Learning Beyond the Classroom: INTI Students Make Waves at Borneo Ultra Ocean Cleanup 5

On 18 April 2026, INTI students stepped beyond the classroom and into action at Borneo Ultra Ocean Cleanup 5, in collaboration with Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM), as part of an initiative to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement. Held at Taman Teluk Likas and Taman Laut Tunku Abdul Rahman, the initiative brought together passionate volunteers by a shared purpose to protect and preserve our marine ecosystem.

Throughout the programme, students took an active role in clearing coastal waste, directly contributing to the fight against ocean pollution. More importantly, they gained valuable, real-world insights into environmental challenges, transforming awareness into meaningful actions.

Beyond the cleanup, the experience sparked deeper conversations about sustainability, responsible waste management, and the long term impact of human activity on marine ecosystems. It was not just about was was collect, but what was learned.

This initiative reflects INTI’s commitment to holistic, future-focused education. By integrating experiential learning with community engagement, we empower our students to become responsible leaders, collaborative team players, and advocates for a more sustainable world.

At INTI, learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. It comes alive through purpose, action, and impact.
