INTI College Sabah Contributes to Gamuda AI Academy Sabah COHORT 4 Mentoring Session

On 4 August 2026, INTI College Sabah was honoured to participate in the Gamuda AI Academy Sabah COHORT 4 Mentoring Session, held from 12.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Representing the college was Ms Marie Shirlean Mekilen, Senior Lecturer in Information Technology, who served as one of the invited mentors for the programme.

The mentoring session adopted a forum-style format, moderated by PMgr. Dr. Prashanth Kumar, Manager of Gamuda AI Academy. The panel comprised four mentors—three experienced professionals from the industry and Ms Marie representing academia. Throughout the discussion, the mentors shared their perspectives on various artificial intelligence (AI) topics, including current industry trends, practical applications of AI, emerging technologies, and the skills required to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The session also featured an interactive question-and-answer segment, where COHORT 4 participants actively engaged with the panel by posing insightful questions on AI, career pathways, and real-world challenges. The open dialogue provided students with valuable exposure to both academic and industry viewpoints.

Following the forum, students presented their AI project ideas and prototypes in groups, seeking constructive feedback from the mentors. The personalised mentoring enabled participants to refine their projects, strengthen their problem-solving approaches, and gain practical insights for further improvement.

The programme concluded with a presentation of souvenirs to the mentors in appreciation of their contributions, followed by a group photo session to commemorate the event.
