    Building bridges through the Belt and Road Education Delegates Visits to INTI College Sabah

    On10 March 2025, a delegation of 15 representatives from China’s internationaleducation sector arrived at INTI College Sabah, facilitated by the proactivecoordination of the Sabah One Belt One RoadHigher Education Association. The delegation embarked on a four-day visit and exchangeprogram to explore the UK 0.5+3 Advanced Foundation Programme).It included representatives from ten influential enterprises and institutionsin the education sector, such as Hebei Guokong Talent, Shandong WanhaoEducation, Shaanxi Guishi, and Beijin Shouguan. Their visit aimed to gain anin-depth understanding of INTI College Sabah’s unique educational philosophy,innovative teaching models, and extensive potential for internationaleducational collaboration.  On the morning of theirarrival, INTI College Sabah held a welcoming ceremony for the delegation. The collegeleader warmly welcomed the delegates, and during the ceremony, a detailedhistory of the institution’s history, the establishment of its specializeddisciplines, and its remarkable achievements in its international education - particularlythe UK Hertfordshire University joint degree programme under 0.5+3 AdvancedFoundation Programme, was introduced to them. The representatives present atthe ceremony included Datuk Thomas Logijin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministryof Industrial Development, Malaysia; Jaccie Koh, Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, Invest Sabah, Malaysia, and Datuk John Lo Thau Fah, Permanent Advisor tothe Sabah Economic Council. After the ceremony, the delegation members,accompanied by college staff and association representatives, toured the campusincluding the teaching facilities, well-equipped laboratories, library with a richcollection of books, and the student activity center. Inthe subsequent discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth discussionson key topics such as international education collaboration projects,innovative talent development models, and diverse academic exchanges. Each ofthe delegates shared their valuable experiences and extensive resourcesaccumulated in the domestic education market, expressing a strong desire toestablish deep collaborations with INTI College Sabah. The college introducedpotential collaborative projects and curriculum frameworks, aiming to advancethe process of education internationalization through cooperation with Chineseenterprises and institutions. With the support of the Sabah One Belt One Road Higher Education Association, the goal is to create broaderdevelopment opportunities for students. Thisvisit and exchange activity, driven by the proactive efforts of the Sabah One Belt One Road Higher Education Association successfully built a strongcommunication bridge between INITI College Sabah and China’s education sector.It also laid a solid foundation for deeper future collaboration in the field ofinternational education. Both parties expressed their commitment to further strengtheningconnections and cooperation, jointly exploring innovative education models, anddedicating efforts to cultivating high-quality talents with a globalperspective, contributing to the advancement of regional education. Establishedin 1995 with the support of the Sabah government, INTI College Sabah, Malaysia,offers a diverse range of programs in popular fields such as business and informationtechnology. Through its joint degree program with the University ofHertfordshire in the UK, the college cultivates students with solidprofessional knowledge and practical skills. Leveraging Sabah’s rich tourismresources, INTI integrates experiential learning with academic instruction,creating a deeply immersive educational model that blends theory and practice.

    Performing Arts Club Explores Culture and Nature in Kuala Penyu

    KOTA KINABALU, 7 February 2025 – The Performing Arts Club successfully organized a study trip to Kuala Penyu, offering students an enriching cultural and educational experience. Led by organizing chairpersons Diana Nicole and Kevin Kishan, the trip aimed to explore the unique culture of Kuala Penyu and deepen students' understanding of the rumbia tree, an important part of the local heritage. The journey began at 8:30 AM from Kota Kinabalu, with participants arriving at Pekan Kuala Penyu around 10:30 AM. They enjoyed stunning views from Sitompok Bridge before having lunch and sightseeing at the breathtaking Sawangan Beach. A key highlight of the trip was the visit to the Rumbia Information Centre in Kampung Kasugira, where students learned about the significance of the rumbia tree and explored the rumbia plantation walk. A group photo marked the memorable experience. Before heading home, the group made a quick stop at Batu Luang and Tempurung Beach Resort to witness a spectacular sunset. At 6:30 PM, they departed for Kota Kinabalu, concluding a meaningful and enjoyable trip. This study trip provided valuable insights into Kuala Penyu’s culture and natural beauty, leaving participants with unforgettable memories and newfound knowledge.

    INTI College Sabah Recognizes Future-Ready Graduates at 2024 Ceremony

    INTI College Sabah recently marked theachievements of nine outstanding graduates at its 2024 Graduation Ceremony,held on 17 November at Connexion @Nexus, Bangsar. Roselyn Chua, Chief Executive of INTICollege Sabah, reflected on the significance of the occasion. “Our graduatesare proof of what resilience, determination, and excellence can achieve. Thesequalities are at the heart of what INTI stands for,” she said. “This isn’t justabout marking success,” Roselyn added. “It’s about acknowledging our graduates’dedication and readiness to contribute meaningfully to their chosen fields.” The ceremony highlighted theaccomplishments of students from the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA(Hons) Business Administration programmes, both offered in partnership with theUniversity of Hertfordshire, UK. Guided by Dg. Siti Aisyah, Head of Programmefor the School of Business (SOBIZ), these 3+0 programmes emphasise practicalskills and real-world applications, equipping students with the tools to excelin their careers. Among the graduates, Fion Pan Shin Yueearned First-Class Honours in Accounting and Finance, an achievement recognisedas a reflection of INTI’s high academic standards. Another highlight was BusinessAdministration graduate Azmeer Zaini bin Annuar Zaini, who made history as theprogramme’s first-ever valedictorian. In a heartfelt speech, Azmeer shared,“Our time here wasn’t just about exams and assignments—it was about growth,collaboration, and building relationships that will guide us in the future.”His words were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. The event celebrated the graduates’ abilityto overcome challenges, highlighting the transformative impact of education. Byfocusing on employability and ensuring programmes meet industry demands, INTICollege Sabah continues to empower students to thrive in a rapidly changingworld. This commitment is reflected in 90% of INTI graduates securing jobs withtop companies within six months of their studies.

    INTI College Sabah proudly hosted itsGraduation and Awards Ceremony 2024 on 23 November 2024, a momentous event thatcelebrated the outstanding achievements of its graduating students. Held at thecollege’s main hall, the ceremony was attended by graduates, their proud familymembers, distinguished industry guests, and members of the academic community. The ceremony was graced by Professor Dr.Vincent A. Pang, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of INTI College Sabah,who served as the Guest of Honor. Also present were Ms. Roselyn Chua, ChiefExecutive of INTI College Sabah, and Dr. Athanasia Nointin, the Academic Dean. This year’s ceremony marked a significantmilestone as graduates from programs such as the Diploma in Accounting, Diplomain Business, Diploma in Hotel Management, Foundation in Business, andCertificate in Business Studies received their scrolls. The event also includedspecial awards to recognize students for academic excellence, contributions tothe college community, and outstanding achievements in sports. Distinguished guests from prominentorganizations, including Asia International Higher Education Management Co.,Ltd. (AIHE), The Small and Medium Enterprise Association of Sabah (SME Sabah),SBH Kibing Solar, and Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, attended theceremony. Their presence highlighted the strong ties between INTI College Sabahand the industry, highlighting the college’s commitment to producing graduateswho are well-equipped for the professional world. The event featured heartfelt speeches fromthe two valedictorians. Cheyne Leong Xuan, from the Diploma in Accountingprogram, and Azmeer Zaini bin Annuar Zaini, from the BA (Hons) BusinessAdministration program, offered in collaboration with the University ofHertfordshire, UK. They shared their journeys of perseverance and growth,inspiring fellow graduates to pursue their dreams with passion anddetermination. Another highlight of the event was theAwards Presentation, where outstanding graduates were recognized for theirexemplary performance. Among the accolades presented were the President's List,Dean's List, and the University of Hertfordshire Distinction and CommendationAwards, which celebrated academic excellence and dedication. The ceremony alsoacknowledged the achievements of recipients of the INTI Merit Scholarship andthe INTI Sports Scholarship, honouring their remarkable talent and commitment bothinside and outside the classroom. Special recognition was also given to twostudents who represented the state of Sabah in the SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024. ChuXin Ying competed in the swimming event, while Emmanuel Fo Yung Kheeparticipated in the tenpin bowling event. Their impressive achievements broughtpride not only to the state but also to INTI College Sabah, highlighting thecollege’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel inacademics, sports, and beyond. The Graduation and Awards Ceremony 2024 wasnot only a celebration of academic success but also a reflection of the vibrantand supportive community at INTI College Sabah. It was a day filled with pride,joy, and hope as the Class of 2023/2024 embarked on their next chapter withconfidence and determination.     INTI College Sabah(ICS) recently celebrated the graduation of its students from the BA (Hons)Accounting and Finance and BA (Hons) Business Administration programs, incollaboration with the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. Theceremony took place on 14 July 2024 at the prestigious Connexion Conference andEvent Centre (CCEC), Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.   Theevent honoured the achievements of all 47 graduates, with a special spotlighton the 13 students who graduated with First Class Honours. Among thesedistinguished students, 3 from the Accounting and Finance major were Chung ZiYing, Eiu Tze Zhen, and Melissa Chin Hon Bei. 10 students from the BusinessAdministration major were Anissa Thea Kong, Chin Mei Yin, Chin Yen Yi, DarellChow, Joy Chan Yan Yan, Lim Hui Chyng, Michelle Wong Tze Wen, Nurizawana BintiSuraman, Tam Xin Yu Felicia, and Wong Ping Kie (in alphabetical order).   Addingto the celebration were the prestigious University of Hertfordshire University Prize Awardspresented to outstanding students. Wong Ping Kie received the Best AcademicAchievement (Overall) award. The Best Academic Achievement (By Campus) awardswere presented to Darell Chow and Melissa Chin Hon Bei. These awards were presentedin recognition of their exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements.   Ina significant acknowledgement from the industry, the Chief Executive of ICS,Ms. Roselyn Chua presented the ACCA Industry Award for BestAccounting Graduate to Chung Zi Ying and Melissa Chin Hon Bei. The SME Sabah Industry Awards werepresented by Dr. Athanasia Nointin, Academic Dean of ICS, to two remarkablestudents. Wong Ping Kie received the SME Sabah Industry Award for AcademicExcellence, while Tam Xin Yu Felicia was awarded the SME Sabah Industry Awardfor Student Leadership. Special thanks and appreciation to our industrypartners, ACCA Malaysia and SME Association of Sabah.   Congratulationsto all First Class Honours graduates, award recipients, and to every graduatewho has reached this significant milestone. Your hard work and dedication havetruly paid off, and we are excited to see the bright futures that lie ahead foreach of you.

    Double Bronze Medalist Shines at SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024

    Rachel Chu Xin Ying, a talented swimmerfrom Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and a Certificate in Business Studies (Sem.4 )student of INTI College Sabah, , made waves at the SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 bywinning two Bronze medals in swimming events. She claimed her first Bronze inthe Women's 800m freestyle with a time of 9:34.42. Her strong performancecontinued in the 4x100m freestyle relay, where her team secured another Bronzewith a combined time of 4:03.49. These achievements reflect Rachel'sdedication to her sport and her ability to perform well in both individual andteam events.
