INTI x Hopes Malaysia: Sustainable Farming Empowerment Volunteering Visit
INTI College Sabah, in collaboration with Hopes Malaysia, successfully organised the Sustainable Farming Empowerment Volunteering Visit at Kampung Bokilong, Kadamaian, Kota Belud, on 23 June 2026.
The visit aimed to support and
engage with the local community while providing volunteers with a meaningful
opportunity to experience rural life and sustainable farming practices
firsthand. Throughout the programme, participants interacted with villagers during a meet-and-greet session,
fostering connections and gaining insights into the community’s way of life, culture, and
agricultural activities.
Volunteers were also given the
opportunity to participate in farming activities, allowing
them to gain valuable
insights into traditional farming methods and understand the importance of sustainable
agriculture. One of the highlights of the visit was the harvesting experience,
where participants worked alongside villagers and experienced the rewarding
process of harvesting
fresh produce.
The villagers warmly welcomed the
volunteers and generously hosted a traditional lunch featuring local Sabahan
cuisine, allowing participants to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the
Kadamaian community.
The programme served as a
meaningful platform for community engagement, cultural exchange, and
experiential learning. Through this initiative, INTI College Sabah and Hopes
Malaysia continue to promote volunteerism, sustainability, and social
responsibility while strengthening relationships with local communities.
