Signing and Unveiling Ceremony for the Joint Construction of Agricultural Engineering and Technology to Support the Belt and Road Initiative Held in Sabah. Sabah, Malaysia,23 March 2025
Today, under the coordination and promotion of the Sabah Belt and Road Higher Education Association, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Malaysia Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, jointly established by INTI College Sabah, Dongying Vocational Institute, and Beijing Haiguotou Group Kevin Shandong Branch was grandly held at INTI College Sabah, Malaysia. The Deputy Chairman of the Invest Sabah Berhad, Mr. George Wong,the Secretary-General of the Sabah Belt and Road Higher Education Association, and other distinguished guests attended the event, witnessing an important milestone in China-Malaysia agricultural technology education cooperation.
Three-Party Collaboration:Building a New Platform for Industry-Education Integration
This collaboration, guided by the mission of ‘Serving the 'Belt and Road', Empowering Modern Agriculture’ integrates educational, industrial, and policy resources from both China and Malaysia to establish a leading hub for the development of international agricultural technology talent. According to the agreement, the three parties will deepen cooperation in the following areas.
1、Two-Way Training Development:Dongying Vocational Institute will provide pre-employment skills training for employees in Malaysia’s modern agricultural technology sector who are sent to INTI College Sabah. Additionally, customized “Chinese + Modern Agricultural Technology” courses will be offered to local Malaysian employees to support the localization of technical applications.
2、Educational Connectivity and Integration: Using the Malaysia Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Technology as a platform, Dongying Vocational Institute and INTI College Sabah will jointly promote international academic programmes, organize annual faculty and student exchange visits, and conduct collaborative research.
3、Industry-Education Collaborative Innovation: Dongying Vocational Institute, in partnership with INTI College Sabah, will focus on the “Five-Gold Engineering ”approach in vocational education (Gold Major, Gold Courses, Gold Textbooks, Gold Faculty, and Gold Training Bases). They will jointly establish a “dual-entity” industry academy to cultivate specialized technical talent in the field of agricultural infrastructure.
Opening Ceremony:China-Malaysia Educational Cooperation Moves Toward Institutionalization
After the signing session, Roselyn Chua Lian Hua, Chief Executive of INTI College Sabah, and Zhang Jianli, Vice Dean of the International Exchange and Cooperation School at Dongying Vocational Institute, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Malaysia Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. This ceremony marked the official launch and implementation phase of the collaboration project, witnessed by distinguished guests in attendance.
Chief Executive Roselyn Chua Lian Hua stated, “The unveiling is not just a symbolic step but the starting point for deeper resource integration between both parties. The institute will leverage Sabah’s agricultural industry advantages to create an integrated vocational education platform encompassing teaching, practical training, and employment.”
