INTI x Hopes Malaysia: Sustainable Farming Empowerment Volunteering Visit
INTI College Sabah, incollaboration with Hopes Malaysia, successfully organised the SustainableFarming Empowerment Volunteering Visit at Kampung Bokilong, Kadamaian, KotaBelud,on 23 June 2026. The visit aimed to support andengage with the local community while providing volunteers with a meaningfulopportunity to experience rural life and sustainable farming practicesfirsthand. Throughout the programme, participants interacted with villagers during a meet-and-greet session,fostering connections and gaining insights into the community’s way of life, culture, andagricultural activities. Volunteers were also given theopportunity to participate in farming activities, allowingthem to gain valuableinsights into traditional farming methods and understand the importance of sustainableagriculture. One of the highlights of the visit was the harvesting experience,where participants worked alongside villagers and experienced the rewardingprocess of harvestingfresh produce. The villagers warmly welcomed thevolunteers and generously hosted a traditional lunch featuring local Sabahancuisine, allowing participants to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of theKadamaian community. The programme served as ameaningful platform for community engagement, cultural exchange, andexperiential learning. Through this initiative, INTI College Sabah and HopesMalaysia continue to promote volunteerism, sustainability, and socialresponsibility while strengthening relationships with local communities.
