Building bridges through the Belt and Road Education Delegates Visits to INTI College Sabah

On 10 March 2025, a delegation of 15 representatives from China’s international education sector arrived at INTI College Sabah, facilitated by the proactive coordination of the Sabah One Belt One Road Higher Education Association. The delegation embarked on a four-day visit and exchange program to explore the UK 0.5+3 Advanced Foundation Programme). It included representatives from ten influential enterprises and institutions in the education sector, such as Hebei Guokong Talent, Shandong Wanhao Education, Shaanxi Guishi, and Beijin Shouguan. Their visit aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of INTI College Sabah’s unique educational philosophy, innovative teaching models, and extensive potential for international educational collaboration.


 On the morning of their arrival, INTI College Sabah held a welcoming ceremony for the delegation. The college leader warmly welcomed the delegates, and during the ceremony, a detailed history of the institution’s history, the establishment of its specialized disciplines, and its remarkable achievements in its international education - particularly the UK Hertfordshire University joint degree programme under 0.5+3 Advanced Foundation Programme, was introduced to them. The representatives present at the ceremony included Datuk Thomas Logijin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industrial Development, Malaysia; Jaccie Koh, Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, Invest Sabah, Malaysia, and Datuk John Lo Thau Fah, Permanent Advisor to the Sabah Economic Council. After the ceremony, the delegation members, accompanied by college staff and association representatives, toured the campus including the teaching facilities, well-equipped laboratories, library with a rich collection of books, and the student activity center.




In the subsequent discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as international education collaboration projects, innovative talent development models, and diverse academic exchanges. Each of the delegates shared their valuable experiences and extensive resources accumulated in the domestic education market, expressing a strong desire to establish deep collaborations with INTI College Sabah. The college introduced potential collaborative projects and curriculum frameworks, aiming to advance the process of education internationalization through cooperation with Chinese enterprises and institutions. With the support of the Sabah One Belt One Road Higher Education Association, the goal is to create broader development opportunities for students.



This visit and exchange activity, driven by the proactive efforts of the Sabah One Belt One Road Higher Education Association successfully built a strong communication bridge between INITI College Sabah and China’s education sector. It also laid a solid foundation for deeper future collaboration in the field of international education. Both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening connections and cooperation, jointly exploring innovative education models, and dedicating efforts to cultivating high-quality talents with a global perspective, contributing to the advancement of regional education.


Established in 1995 with the support of the Sabah government, INTI College Sabah, Malaysia, offers a diverse range of programs in popular fields such as business and information technology. Through its joint degree program with the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, the college cultivates students with solid professional knowledge and practical skills. Leveraging Sabah’s rich tourism resources, INTI integrates experiential learning with academic instruction, creating a deeply immersive educational model that blends theory and practice.
