INTI College Sabah has been operating since 1995. Initially, it was located at Lot 37-39, Grand Industrial Center, Penampang Road, before relocating to its location at Lot 17-20, Phase 1B & Phase 3, Off Jalan Kompleks JKR, Taman Putatan Baru, Putatan Point, 88200 Putatan, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In August 2023, the college moved to a new location to KM10 Jalan Tuaran bypass 88450 Kota Kinabalu, to offer a better campus experience. The current campus spans 40 acres, with 9,898 square meters of building space, providing a safe and conducive environment for learning. To accommodate its continued growth, a new city campus has recently been completed, designed to house both undergraduate and master's students.

In January 2023, the college transitioned to the Canvas Learning Management System, replacing Blackboard, which had been in use since 2016. Faculty members have undergone comprehensive training in blended learning, pedagogy, outcome-based education, and Canvas LMS, among other areas, to further develop their skills in utilizing these tools and teaching methods.

MyQuest is a quality assurance framework developed by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to evaluate the quality of private higher education institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia, including private colleges and universities. The system was introduced to ensure institutions meet established academic, administrative, and infrastructural standards, thereby enhancing the overall quality of higher education in Malaysia.
In 2021, it earned the “Berdaya Saing” translated as “Competitive” rating, which signifies excellence and indicates that the college has met all the criteria under the Malaysian Higher Education Institution Rating system. Institutions in this category are recognized as “capable of competing at a higher level”.
