Career Talk at Le
Meridien Hotel: A Gateway to Opportunities
On 24 June
2024, a group of DHTMW students from the August 2024 intake was honored with an invitation to attend
a Career Talk at Le Meridien Hotel. This event, organized in collaboration with
Le Meridien and Marriott International hotels, aimed to expose employment and
career opportunities available both locally and within the Marriott
International group.
The session, which ran from 11:00 a.m. to
12:30 p.m., was designed to provide
students with valuable insights into the hospitality industry. The event
commenced with a brief introduction by Mr. Brian Loijin, the Training Manager
at Le Meridien Hotel, followed by Mr. Mark Martin, the Human Resource Manager
at Marriott International Hotel.
Following the briefing, the students were given a guided tour of the hotel. This tour included visits to the guest rooms and various Food and Beverage outlets, allowing the students to experience the facilities firsthand. Additionally, the event featured engaging talks from hotel employees who shared their real-world experiences and insights into the day-to-day workings of the industry.
The students expressed their gratitude for the
exposure, appreciating the practical insights and the opportunity to connect
with industry professionals. This experience not only enriched their
understanding of the hospitality sector but also equipped them with the
knowledge and confidence needed to embark on their careers in the industry.
