Le Meridien career talk and Hotel visitation
Career Talk at LeMeridien Hotel: A Gateway to Opportunities On 24 June2024, a group of DHTMW students from the August 2024 intake was honored with an invitation to attenda Career Talk at Le Meridien Hotel. This event, organized in collaboration withLe Meridien and Marriott International hotels, aimed to expose employment andcareer opportunities available both locally and within the MarriottInternational group. The session, which ran from 11:00 a.m. to12:30 p.m., was designed to providestudents with valuable insights into the hospitality industry. The eventcommenced with a brief introduction by Mr. Brian Loijin, the Training Managerat Le Meridien Hotel, followed by Mr. Mark Martin, the Human Resource Managerat Marriott International Hotel. Following the briefing, the students were given aguided tour of the hotel. This tour included visits to the guest rooms andvarious Food and Beverage outlets, allowing the students to experience thefacilities firsthand. Additionally, the event featured engaging talks fromhotel employees who shared their real-world experiences and insights into theday-to-day workings of the industry. The students expressed their gratitude for theexposure, appreciating the practical insights and the opportunity to connectwith industry professionals. This experience not only enriched theirunderstanding of the hospitality sector but also equipped them with theknowledge and confidence needed to embark on their careers in the industry.
